Mazas Book 1 number 08Introduction Here we have a study in legato bowing and rounded phrasing. Intonation is a key left hand factor, especially mastered by careful and close placing of the semitones. The middle section written in the major key should be played with an especially sweet tone, almost piano, taking care to phrase nicely, and to sustain the tone evenly. Again in the middle section, the bow should be distributed evenly from heel to tip. |
