Dual Line Sport KitesAbout myselfHi, my name is Roland Herrera, and I live in Bristol, UK. I'm an intermediate kite flyer, which means I can do basic tricks like an axel or a fade and more recently a 540. I have flown kites on and off all my life, since I was 6, but it's only when I moved to Bristol in 1998 that I bought my first trick kite, the Benson Reflex. I didn't really make much progress on my first two subsequent Summers ( I thought push turns were cool ! ), but 2001 has been a good season, learning most of what I know about tricking ! If you are local you might catch me flying on the Downs. Drop me an email and we can meet up if you like ! You can visit the various sections of my kite site. I'll start with taking you through my kite bag, commenting on my 13 kites, and then a "kite flyer's notebook" which will describe some of the difficulties and satisfactions I am going through as I learn how to trick my kites. Note that the measurements I give to each kite are my own ; so 2 grams of mud on the nose may explain any discrepancy between my figures and official ones. Also, my aspect ratio figures are simply width divided by height, instead of the span squared divided by the area. When I find a way to work out the area I'll do it the proper way ! I have some excellent pictures of my kites on their way, and my trick section is expanding all the time.
